Former champion Kiran Manisha Mohanty drew her 11th and final game against P Priya to finish 11th with seven points in the 36th National Women ‘B’ Chess Championship at Nagpur on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh WIM Lakshmi P Sahiti emerged champion, securing 10 points, while Bhakti Kulkarni (Goa) finished runner-up with 9.5 points.
WIM Kiran’s three Orissa statemates, Sradhanjali Jena, Rutumbara Bidhar and Smaraki Mohanty occupied the 39th, 58th and 68th positions respectively among a total of 97 players in the final standings.
Orissa results (Round 11): Kiran Manisha Mohanty (7) drew with P Priya (TN), Sradhanjali Jena (6) lost to Sonakshi Rathore (Raj), Rutumbara Bidhar (5) drew with Gauri Keshav Hadkonkar (Goa), Smaraki Mohanty (4.5) lost to Shristi Gautam (Bhr).
